Kristy Depper is a photographic artist motivated by the effects of socio-political privileging on the concepts of individuality and community. Her work employs a form of mapping and conceptual documentary to frame social experiences related to the notions of community and the construction of identity.
Kristy holds an MFA from NSCAD University in Halifax (2014), where she was awarded the Bombardier Graduate Scholarship from SSRHC, the Roloff Beny Scholarship, a Graduate Fellowship Award and a scholarship from the Nova Scotia Talent Trust. Additionally, she holds an Honours BFA from Ryerson University (2012) and a Diploma in Applied Photography from Sheridan College (1999). Her work has been exhibited in both Ontario and Nova Scotia. Kristy has been a professional digital Retoucher for more than 15 years. For the last four years she has concentrated on interior design and food. Her work has been featured in Canadian House and Home magazine, Style at Home magazine, Canadian Family magazine, Chatelaine magazine, Canadian Gardening magazine, LCBO magazine and Enroute magazine. She has plenty of experience retouching people and this work has been featured in W magazine and Black magazine. She is skilled, professional, and efficient.

As a technical consultant, Kristy has facilitated the implementation of digital imaging solutions for numerous higher education institutions across North America. She specializes in fine-art digital printing, automated workflow, and colour management. She has spoken at numerous North American special events, conferences and trade shows.

Kristy is passionate about photography and digital imaging and loves to share her knowledge. She has been teaching clients from diverse learning levels for more than ten years, six of which were devoted to college level instruction in the Applied Photography Program and Continuing Education Program at Sheridan College. She is happy to teach large or small groups. In-home training is available in photography, digital imaging, colour management and fine art printing.
